Recipe Builder
Recipe Builder is an idea I came up with, when I was tired of looking for recipes that I’d only have half the items for. I thought it would be great to have an option where I just input exactly what I have, and get some recipes! It also helps to explore options you may not have considered with your ingredients. I also love the ability to consider things like dietary restrictions, allergies and other considerations that some recipe apps do not include.
I created the design in Illustrator, and created a prototype in Proto.io to test the user experience. It was important to me that people could quickly figure out how to navigate the interface, and complete tasks. I had a few different friends test out the user experience and made changes based on issues they found, or things they suggested as helpful items.
Final Designs
These are a few examples of the finalized designs. I included a color scheme of purple and yellow, and created a few custom icons, assets, and other things to include into the design library of the final asset. I threw a few recipes together to include to test out how the flow of ingredients and instructions would work, and to give users an idea of what different sections would look like if filled out with options (search, saved recipes, etc) I also worked through views such as reviews and uploading photos, rating a recipe, and viewing based on certain ingredients/food restrictions.
